If you are going to collect pucks of Devils captains, you need to start at the beginning. The first ever Devils captain, Don Lever.
Don was a 9 year veteran who, in 1981, played for the Colorado Rockies, who would move the next year and become the New Jersey Devils.
He would serve as captain for only two years. He played over 1,000 NHL games and will forever be a part of team history as its first ever captain.
